One of the things we are trying hard to avoid is cookie-cutter / duplicated / copied forms & maps, as they too will get tossed. Sure, it would be great if one of us filled them out and everyone just photo'd and mailed. That isn't going to work, though. And was the main reason we had the workshop, to show HOW to fill them out, and then each person could explain their OWN reasons why each trail they want to use, or have used is important, for their own reasons.
Marked maps and forms are up on display at Off-Road Center, 8935 Skyway, Paradise, M-F, 9-4, closed 1 - 2:15. Deadline for postmark remains August 1 .
What this legend shows however, without me explaining it in huge detail, on a board, is that most, if not all, of the High Lakes trails are PROPOSED to become summer/fall use only, and some we've used for years are PROPOSED to become single track. Summer/fall ONLY could effectively close the High lakes for SEVEN months use, every year, and IMHO lose some of the best reasons to go there.
I hope those aware of the maps and the trails can see that another comment is needed, because it sure looks to me like winter wheeling up there is gone, if we allow them to get the proposed draft in effect. And all of Bear Lake trail and PipeJam becomes single track Bah! Plus I'd much rather get it stopped NOW with comments, than to wait for the DEIS to do it to us, if at all possible.
