Friends of The High Lakes
« on: August 18, 2007, 09:53:43 am »
A new group is forming to provide the vehicle for us all to come together and be
able to speak as one LOUD voice to the land managers of the area we love, and
use our motorized recreation vehicles to enjoy.

This group is based on the very successful entity Friends of the Rubicon, which
Del Albright started some 7 years ago.  It's success is unparalleled in user
groups to protect, repair and maintain a single trail.  Del is helping us with
this group in every way possible.

To this end, a new web site is up.  While it isn't quite finished, as some
issues crept in with one of the browsers, despite the site being cross-browser
and cross platform compatible, and validated.  It has been tested with Windows
XP - Firefox, and IE; also with Linux - Firefox, Galeon and Konquerer - no Macs
here to test with tho'.

So there is yet to come a page:

Pictures  - page with lots of pictures of the various places up there taken
by many visitors who have helped thus far.

(I got the other two to sorta behave enough to get them up)

I invite you to take a look, to join up, and check out what is offered.  Please
use the JOIN page to get added to the database
, if you haven't already listed
all of your information on one of then sign up sheets from a pizza parlor
meeting, or at one club's meeting.  Even if you have, doing it again shouldn't
get you added twice
.

There is also a button to just add your self to a mail listserv .
The listserv (email list) also allows discussions back and forth as well.
You may sign up to get every email as it is sent or a daily digest.

The JOIN page to get into the database to be informed as we progress.  Oh, 'ya
and it is promised no spam or virii or verms will ever knowingly come from that
list, or as a result of JOINing, and the database will NEVER be shared with
anyone, for any reason.

If you are interested the Trail Patrol is seeking volunteers as well.

Please respond back to   info@friendsofhighlakes.com   with any issues,
suggestions, or ideas you may have to improve the site, while the three derelict
pages are being worked on.  Invite your friends to join up, as I don't have all
email address, yet.

Oh,  ya'  the web site url  :

      http://www.friendsofhighlakes.com

that's     friends of high lakes .  com  but with no spaces

Enjoy,

Ken
