What's up? 

Well, yesterday saw closure signs UP at Philbrook Y

I saw helos dumping water on fires for two days this week.

I saw a note that the trees to the west of Saddle Lake were "nuked" by fire, and that the Saddle Lake trail was dozed to become a fire line, and that everything from there to Reese flat was burned.  Not sure what that means for sure yet.

I see an order from Lassen N.F. that lifts some closures from a year ago,  but still closed due to fires.

I see Glue still trying to whip Bib's ass

I see Whitey as the only JackAss with a ham license!   (yo, Wilson!)

Saw the price of gas wasn't up for the first time in I forgot how long.

Ok,  that's what's up in my small orb of time.   What's up with Troy?

I m pretty bummed ta hear the area i enjoy so much is lookin so damn bad. :'( :'(           (like tha cryin indian commercial)        I hope we can make it up soon & try ta purdy it up as much as we can.

From what I've been able to glean, it is a LOT of the understory that is gone...  the maze of ground cover,  that can and will return in a year or two...  and NOT a lot of the trees having crowned.

Yep, we'll have to wait to see what it looks like..  and I can say from views from overlooks, that there are still a lot of trees left, but I haven't seen the south side yet.

I'd say early August we might be able to start planning our rehab and get going on Adopt-a-Trail projects that were delayed by the fires.
