I have already asked for an extension as the DEIS was "planned" to be no more than 300 pages,  and it (without the index) is 458 pages.

Comments may be hand delivered Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, excluding holidays. Comments may also be faxed to (530) 283-7746 or emailed to plumas_ohv_mail_in_database@fs.fed.us. The acceptable format(s) for electronic comments is: Microsoft Word or Rich Text Format. The Opportunity to Comment ends 45 days following publication of the notice of availability (NOA) in the Federal Register.

You might know that the Southern side of The High Lakes is *IN* Plumas National Forest.

Don't let this get past you !      And don't count on "someone else" to do it.

Today, I attended a briefing by Pete Hochrein of the upcoming DEIS, which should be in printed form January 2, and has an input deadline of February 16.

Attached are the talking points of that briefing. Also attached is the draft of the DEIS to give you a head start on thinking about comments.

What is important is the appendix A and the miles to be deleted, on the hard-to-read (so far) maps.
