Dianne Feinstein's Desert Confiscation Act sucked years ago, and the 'new' version of it sucks equally bad today...
What can you do, though? How about a few easy clicks and an online petition, courtesy of the California Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs:
http://www.petitiononline.com/notS2921/petition.htmlIt won't even take you 30 seconds...
More details here, including Cal4Wheel's Position Statement on S2921:
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showt...php?p=11211369We're over 400 signatures... keep up the good work!
BTW, the petition is backed up by CA4WDC's Position, in full detail here:
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showt...php?p=11211369I was reading this again, and I sure do like the simplicity of the position statement (opposition to S2921), and I also like the general planks that follow:
* We oppose legislation that restricts the public’s access to public lands.
* We oppose the creation of new wilderness areas and National Monuments that withdraw lands from public access and close existing routes.
* We oppose the creation of new wilderness areas that do not meet the standards of the Wilderness Act of 1964
* We also oppose legislation that attempts to indiscriminately close any area or route of travel without verification of the economic impact to the area.
Damn straight, I'm proud of my Association for pulling this together.
