Prescribed Burning Begins on Public Lands
« on: June 12, 2010, 09:42:59 am »
Date: Jun 11, 2010

The Lassen National Forest and Lassen Volcanic National Park will soon begin spring prescribed burning programs in Northeastern California.  The late start of spring has pushed back the start of prescribed burning, which will begin as weather conditions allow for safe and efficient burning.

Of the several burns, the one below is the only one near The High Lakes

The Browns Ravine prescribed burn could include up to sixty acres within oak enhancement units.  The project is located two miles east of the small town of Inskip, in Butte County.  Smoke will be visible from the Central Valley (Chico, etc.) as a result of this project, likely to be implemented in late June.
